ASUS TF101 Transformer Stuck On Starting
Ok, we have 2 ASUS transformers that have separately gotten stuck on startup when booting.
They just sit on the ASUS loging and spinning dots.
This is how to recover them.
Cold Boot:
- With the unit powered off (May have to have it off the charger for this to work) hold power button & volume down button for maybe 10 seconds until Android robot logo appears in the center of the screen along with the Wipe Data logo
- Following the instructions on the top left of the screen, use Volume Up & Down keys to select Select cold boot
If still stuck in boot loop, you will have to Wipe Data from the unit.
Wipe data:
- With the unit powered off (May have to have it off the charger for this to work) hold power button & volume down button for maybe 10 seconds until Android robot logo appears in the center of the screen along with the Wipe Data logo

- Machine will be reset back to factory
Reinstall & let Google recovery do as much of the work as possible..
- Select language (English (UK)
- Select keyboard (US)
- Connect to wifi
- Enter GMail account & password
- Backup & Restore:
- Yes to Restore using my GMail account (Default)..
- Yes to Backup using my Gmail account (Default)
- Click 'Done' and restore starts..
ICS is out, 1 tabletpicked it up via OTA updates but the other didn't
Did:
- Settings - Apps - Manage - All - DMClient - Force Close then Clear Data.
- Reboot (press power/lock button for 10 seconds until the screen goes black)
- Now, go to Settings - About - Firmware Update - Check for Update
Nope still no go
